今回のYouYabeLiveはプログレッシブハウス特集。プログレッシブハウスと言えば今でこそKaskadeとかMark Knight、David Guettaあたりを思い浮かべますが、振り返ってみると色んな解釈があったように思います。
元々はSasha & Digweedあたりが好んでかけていた美しい感じのトラックがプログレッシブハウスと言われていたように思いますが、そこからPaul Oakenfoldあたりのキラキラ系とSasha & Digweed系のアンダーグラウンド系の二派に分かれました。
前者はそこからトランスとの親和性を高めていく一方、後者は2000年前後にはSatoshi TomiieやDanny Tenagliaあたりも包含するジャンルとして認識されていたように思います。
僕の言うプログレッシブハウスはこれら全部を指してますが、どちらかというとど真ん中はSashaやBedrockのプロダクションに見られる幾重にも重なる荘厳なシンセが美しいプログレッシブハウスです。
